Ghost Reson Future Soldier Review.

The Ghost recon franchise has been around since 2002. Since the release of the Xbox 360 it has had 2 releases both being called by most players GRAW this is short for Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter. This is the 3rd installment of the franchise on the 360 but this time around instead of making it a numbered sequel they have titled Ghost Recon Future Soldier. Except for having the title of the franchise the game is not a sequel to any of the previous games.

In this new release you once again take up the mantle of the Ghosts the 4 man team that is constantly taking secret missions for Uncle Sam. This game is awesome it is a great tactical shooter the graphics are very good they are beeter then the first Graw but seem to be on par or maybe a little better then the second Graw.  The GRFS introduces new game mechanics for example marked shooting you can now mark up to 4 people and then in unison you and your team can take them all out or you can mark less then 4 and have your team kill them so that you can conserve ammo. Also new to the game is the stealth kill feature when I say stealth kill i dont me a kill from a gun with a suppressor I mean the sort of kills that you would find. In say a Splinter Cell game.

Also newly added to the game is the Guerrilla mode much like Horde or Firefight in Gears and Halo you now have the added possibility of that in this game.

The multiplayer this time around is a bit of the same it is a bunch of objective games along with free for all and team death match. In my opinion though you wont find yourself plaything those game types though you will find yourself playing the objective games with friends.

Last but certainly not the least and in my opinion the most notable of the new features to the game is the Co-op you can now play with up to 4 people in the campaign. This in my opinion is the greatest of the new features. Also there are a bunch of non campaign co op missions for those who like to work together.

All in all GRFS is a great game and worth adding to anyones collection if you are not sure wait till it gets cheaper but still i recommend this game to anyone who loves tactical shooters..

The film is set to be released on June 12th on DVD and Blu-ray.

May Update Along with a Review of Mincraft Xbox 360 Edition.

I know I know it has been a very long time since I have last posted on the blog and for that I am sorry but here is the update you have been waiting for. First off it is May and with that comes 3 games that we have all been waiting for first of the 3 Minccraft 360 edition, Max Payne 3 and last but certainly not least Ghost Recon Future Solider. I am sorry to have to say this but you will have to wait till tomorrow and next week for a review of Max Payne 3 and Future Solider I assure you though that it will be worth the wait.

Before we get to the review of Minecraft there are a few things I want to update everyone one. First being Call of Duty Black Ops 2 the announcement trailer finally came out in late April and man does it look good. This was the Black Ops game that I wanted now lets just hope that it is good but at least the multiplayer is going to be good. Second if you haven't, go see the Avengers I have seen it now 6 times and I can honestly say that it is a great film and that Whedon can do no wrong lol.

Now to what you have been waiting for Minecraft 360 edition. This was released last week on Wednesday and my god this is a great game. It is a bit on the pricey side but again it is worth the money there is something very satisfying about digging a digital hole. The game starts out much like animal crossing you start out on a beach with nothing and you have to work your way up to having a house and your own supplies. If you have seen or played the PC version you will know what you are doing the game is pretty simple but I have to say that is why it is so much fun. The graphics aren't that great but what you really play is for the gameplay it is again great. it is good simple clean fun.

Again be sure to catch review for Max Payne 3 and Future Solider.

Until Next Time Geeks...

Batman AC New DLC and GOTY edition coming at you May 29 2012

Rocksteady announced that a Game of the Year edition version of Batman: Arkham City is on the way. The GOTY version will come with all of the game's DLC that came out so far, including the upcoming story-based DLC, "Harley Quinn's Revenge", as well as a download code for the animated film, Batman: Year One. that is a pretty sweet deal but what about the people who bought most of the DLC?! well Rocksteady also announced that you will be able to download the DLC without buying the GOTY edition for a reasonable price. Harley Quinn's Revenge, which may or may not be a sidekick showdown between Robin and The Joker's leading lady Harley Quinn. Harley Quinn’s Revenge will cost 800 Microsoft Points or $10 on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. PSN will see it on May 29th and Xbox Live on the 30th. The DLC episode will be released for PC at a later date. Check it out video link preview of Harley Quinn's Revenge below:

L'Arc~En~Ciel at Madison Square Garden

Starting in the late 1980's there was a boom in the number of Japanese rock bands throughout that country. In a country known for tradition and respect the blazing guitars and thundering drums of the young edgy bands of that age was a shock to outsiders. The thing was though they were combining the American glam rock, with European pop along with their own sensibilities to create Visual Kei. Look it up and look at the pictures that says more than you'll need to know. One of the bands that came out of this era in the 1990s was L'Arc~En~Ciel, it's french for the Rainbow.

Along with bands like X-Japan, GLAY, Malice Mizer, Luna Sea and others they became famous. Throughout the '90s as the over the top look of Visual Kei wore down the music continued. After two decades of albums and tours and side projects they did something all of their contemporaries had not done. The worlds most famous arena would be the place that L'Arc~En~Ciel would perform in support of their latest album.

X-Japan is by far the most important and influential band to come out of Japan, ever. The bands frontman, the drummer Yoshiki has become such an icon in Japan that there is a Hello Kitty version of him. Take my word for it that's huge. But for all of X-Japans fame. For selling out the largest stadium in Japan, the Tokyo Dome nearly twenty times, L'Arc~En~Ciel did something they've never done play in the worlds most famous arena. That is probably the best thing that they ahve ever done. But maybe it may lead to X-Japan trying to achieve the same feat but better.

The show was supposed to actually take place at the theatre at MSG. Due to high demand it was moved to the main arena. The crowd was over 19,000 people from all over the world but mostly Japanese. Not a sellout but still very impressive and gives them something to shot for next time. And there will be a next time. Long stroy short that was the best concert I have been to just because of scale. I went to the X-Japan show in 2010. That was their first time in New York, but its was at the Roseland Ballroom. A ballroom for the most famous band in Japan and they played a ballroom. Still they made that place explode, but it was no Madison Square Garden.

My hope is that concert will lead to the return of L'Arc~En~Ciel and it will. But than X-Japan will come and raise the bar. Than GLAY, my personal favorite Japanese band of all time. Still mad that I missed them at Flushing Meadow Park back in 1998 I think. But playing at Madison Square Garden would make up for that. Than maybe Gackt, with Exist Trace opening would be cool. I've seen Dir En Gray four times but want to see them somewhere bigger maybe the theatre first and if that get the demand than the Garden. From there Ayumi Hamasaki maybe but that would cause minds to melt. Whatever the case this was the first of many and for that I say that you L''Arc~En~Ciel. And thanks for an awesome concert.

Women of Rock, J-Rock

So I get word that L'Arc~En~Ciel were finally coming to Madison Square Garden. That was great but that's another post. Something happened around that same time though. A friend of mine told me about another concert that would take place a week before L'Arc~En~Ciel. The band was a Visual Kei band but they were all women. Quick background on Visual Kei imagine the 1980's Motley Crue, Prince, and Gothic Lolilita crossed with some Beethoven and Guns and Roses with occasional power ballads. That's the style and sound of Visual Kei. Now imagine five Japanese women doing this, that is Exist Trace.

I go to the concert not sure what to expect but hope for a good time. What I got was loads of awesome from five ladies who are on their way to big huge rockstars. The place was called the Hiro Ballroom, easily missed and not very different from B.B. Kings in Times Square. The opening act was forgettable but I've seen worse, the band that opened for X-Japan still hold that crown. I missed the other band but heard they were good. Than comes the main event and man what show. The lead singer Jyou has the crowd from the opening lyrics. And than we're off and running.

The other girls Lead guitar Omi can just play flat out. Miko the cute one, does the second guitar justice and can play better than what someone would think just by looking at her. Naoto is the goth bassist but can keep everything together as a bassist should. Than Maiiy plays the drum as well as any man I've seen. Together they are Exist Trace. The music works. I expect at some point one of their songs will be part of some anime and when it is I'll be listening and so should you. The rest is pictures anymore is YouTube for you.
