Xbox One Media Remote.

When the Xbox 360 was released if you bought the premium version of the console you got the original media remote for free. A couple months after the consoles release you were able to buy the Xbox 360 Universal Media remote.

Now the Xbox One is following suit. With the Xbox One Media Remote. Much like all current Xbox One accessories this comes packaged in the normal green box. Much like the other accessories before it, it has and image of the item and its name in multiple languages.

Upon opening the remote you are treated to the remote in the standard white cardboard that houses all the accessories. Unlike the controller and the stereo adapter it is nestled  at 90 degree angle as featured in the picture below.

When you take the remote out of the packaging you find that the whole of the controller is cased in rubber and that the item is soft to the touch. It also has a built in gyroscope so that if you move the controller it will light up making it easy to use in the dark.

The controller has all you typical buttons including a dedicated home button a long with dedicated back and menu buttons sad to say that none of the buttons are touch sensitive they are actually pressure sensitive. An alot of them only work if you are using the Xbox One as a pass through box, if you arent using the Xbox One as a pass through for your cable box you will only be able to use the remote when you watch blurays.

The controller uses 2 triple A batteries unlike it predecessor. Also the back panel of the remote is hard to pry off you have to slide and pull up. It isnt relatively hard but it may be hard for those that arent familiar with how to do it.

All in all the remote is a great buy at the $24.99 price point it is a great joy to use so that you dont have to always use the remote.

Until Next Time Geeks....
