New TV on DVD for the week.

This week on TV on DVD I talk about 2 show that have season that came out this week. I know that the internet is ridden with GTA 5. I know my staff here is playing that game so hard that they are losing time on almost everything an I must say that I love it. But there is only so much GTA 5 that we can post so here is some TV on DVD.

Up first is The Mentalist Season 5. The Mentalist was a show created in 2008 it is the story of a man who consults for the FBI helping them with cases an things like that I am not very familiar with the show but this week the 5th season Arrived on DVD.

The set comes with all 22 episodes over the course of 5 discs.

The set also comes with multiple bonus features.

  • The Artistry of Action: From Script to Screen - Bruno Heller and Chris Long introduce the people planning and the prudence that goes into filming every stunt in the show.
  • Arresting Excitement: Keeping it real with the CBI- Tim Kang and Owain Yeoman are put through their paces by stunt coordinator Kevin Derr.
It is a great series and a great addition to anyones collection.

The next show that was released this week was a personal favorite of mine Arrow.

The show is based on the character Green Arrow an was a CW hit in Fall 2012 an I must say it is an amazing show. It follows the exploits of Oliver Queen and how he went from a being a billionaire playboy to being a Arrow shooting superhero.

The first season of the series was released on blu-ray and Dvd. The Dvd ser has all 23 episodes over 5 discs and bonus footage. Unlike its DVD counter part the Blu-ray version of the set comes with 9 discs I know weird but that is cause it comes with the dvd version of the first season and a digital copy.

Both sets though come with multiple bonus features.

  • Arrow Comes Alive: Is a small documentary about how the series was brought to fruition with nods to the DC character.
  • Arrow Fight School: From expertly choreographed fights to stunts that give feature films a run for their money. Arrow takes aim to present the best that television can offer.
  • Arrow at Paley fest 2013: Highlights from the Paley Fest 2013 Panel.
  • Deleted scenes
  • Gag Reel.
All in all both of these new seasons on DVD are a great buy for any fan that has missed or wants to rewatch old episodes of the shows.

Grand Theft Auto 5. Things you will need to know and or do.

The in game loading screens.

So it came it saw and for the holiday it is going to conquer. Grand Theft Auto 5 ok so the EGFG crew and I have had the game for a couple of hours and I have to say it is amazing it is going to give you geeks hours on top of hours of playtime.

If you are new to the series which I doubt that any of you are here are a few things that you should know about the game and things you should take into consideration as you play.

Buy a Non- Digital Version of the game.
I know I know everyone is all lets get the digital copy so that we dont have to wait in line or we dont have to order the game from an online retailer. I understand that you may do it out of convenience or whatever but if you opt out for that version of the game you wont get the 2 sided map of Los Santos.

Make sure you have enough space for the 8gb install of the game.
Whether you get the PS3 version of the game or the 360 version of the game you will need to install it into your system. The game on 360 comes on 2 discs and you will need to install disc 1 on to the HDD. The PS3 is one disc but you will still need an 8gb install.

Make sure that no one you dont want tarnished for their lives is near you when you play.
As in all GTA fashion Rockstar took so liberties with the game dialog and made it lets say very colorful. So when you are playing be mindful of who is around you and who is watching you play from your little cousins to your little sons or daughters.

An last but not least play as you like.

Play as you like if you have a character that is your favorite play as that character no matter what. I understand that you can play as all 3 of them but really the game is open world if there is someone you like more then the others play as him.

Most importantly enjoy the game Rockstar has been working really hard on this game and you should enjoy their labor.

And here it finally is. Grand Theft Auto 5 the review.

GTA had such small beginnings until 2001. When GTA 3 was released that game changed the spectrum of how we play an looked at GTA. Fast forward 12 years and Rockstar is at it again. They are changing the way we look at the series and I must say that oh my gosh they have done it again.

In  GTA 5 we return to San Andres mainly a city called Los Santos. The game puts you in the role of and this is a first for the GTA series 3 main characters. The first is Micheal he is a retired criminal enjoying the life of leisure from his past jobs but at the same time getting bored with it.

The second is Franklin he is a wheelman and a repo-man Micheal takes him under his wing to bring him to bigger and better things. An the last is Trevor he is the psycho in the group an he is an old accomplice of Micheal's.

Together you use these 3 to setup giant heists to attain large sums of money. This GTA houses so much. There is so much to do in the game from playing tennis to racing. You can even dive for treasure in this game. Like all GTA games the world is open and the city is huge.

The controls are as amazing as ever an one of the biggest things is that no matter what you are doing you can switch between characters with an awesome and amazing satellite image of the city.

The game is amazing that is as much I want to say without ruining the game for you guys.

All in all like you are going to hear from multiple places the game is amazing. An it will give you hours on top of hours of amazing gameplay and fun in this open world environment.

Stay tuned for the review of the GTA 5 multiplayer.  Which is slated to come out on October  1st.
