Poker Night 2 Review.

Early in April I got an email from Telltale Games the company behind the Walking Dead Episode game. They were excited to tell us here at EGFG that they were releasing a new game at the end of the month. An that game is call Poker Night 2 the game was released on the 23rd for the Xbox 360 and it comes out today across all other platforms.

The game starts with the player walking into a high stakes game of poker with a full cast of extraordinary characters. From Brock Samson to Glados from portal she is actually your dealer. The game is pretty straight forward you can play two types of Holdem Texas and Omaha. Now those who are unfamiliar with Omaha it is five card stud played in the same fashion of Texas holdem. What really makes this game shine is the cast of characters that you play with they are all really cool and their scripted lines are hilarious. The game is much like any other arcade game on 360 with one simple thing the best being that you can earn unlocks for a bunch of games that are currently out on 360 like Borderlands 2 an on Steam and PS3 you get stuff also. I am not 100 percent sure what you get but I know for sure there are some unlocks. The game costs 800 Points on 360 but for Steam to Ps3 it is 5 dollars.

All the unlocks that you can get from the game while playing.
An stay tuned we still have some contests coming up in honor of our 250th post.

Digimon Season 2 a review.

The Mini Guied book that gives insight into the characters.
Back in late March Flat Iron Films was at it again. With the release of Digimon Season 2. The series takes a place a few years after the first series. T.K and Kari are now in 6th grade while the previous Digi-destined are now in high school. The digital world is again set in turmoil because someone called the Digi-emperor is capturing digimon and using them as his slaves he is also setting up spires so that the digimon cant digivolve.

Davis, T.K, Kari, and Yolei

As featured in the pictures above and below the series again comes over the course of 8 discs. Each disc featuring a digi-destined and their digimon and the last 2 discs feature the original digi-destined.

Like the season 1 release season 2 is accompanied with a guide book or like it says on the backof the dvd case an artbook. Below are a few pictures of the book.

Davis and Veemon.

Ken and Wormmon and his digivolution Stingmon.

2 forms of DNA Digivolve
All in all the series finally continuing on Dvd is an amazing thing. I am happy that the cartoons that I used to watch as a child are coming back again so that I can one day maybe watch them with my little nephews and nieces. Or one day watch it with my kids.
T.K and Patamon

Telltale Games' Poker Night 2

Poker Night 2 is coming later this month for Pc and Consoles. Along with the game containing multiple characters and such there will also be a multitude of unlocks for the game.

All the unlocks are pretty cool below are some of them. Alot of them are for both console and PC version but there are some that are steam only like the Team Fortress 2 stuff, The PS3 also gets special themes that are just for that consoles version. The game will be out later this month for consoles and steam so look for it. An look for our review.

Injusttice Gods Among Us a Review.

The Special Edition of the game.

In 2009 NetherRealm released Mortal Kombat a reboot to an amazing series that was always in my opinion Street Fighters rival. Fast forward 4 years and NetherRealms is at it again.  With Injustice Gods Among us.

The game follows the story of Justice League when Superman has his last straw broken because he is tricked into killing his wife and his unborn child by the Joker everything in their universe is turned to shit. A nuke goes off and their world is turned upside down. All the superheroes start picking sides and it is up to everyone to choose what side they want to take.

The game comes in multiple flavors. Your standard gen consoles but along with those comes the special edition of the game and the Joystick version of the game. Which is pictured below.

The fight stick version of Injustice it comes in both 360 and PS3 flavors.

The gameplay is pretty solid. The controls are nice but much like Mortal Kombat the game can be very unforgiving when it comes to its learning curve. There is practice mode and a mode called Star Labs where you can learn some basic moves but again it is pretty much one of those things that you have to teach yourself.

The graphics are pretty solid and the story once again is pretty amazing it in that great DC length it is another universe created by the game developers. That is one of the biggest reasons I love DC they have a way of explaining everything and it is awesome. All in all I have to say that Injustice is an amazing game it have its steep learning curve and the online maybe hickupy when playing on the ps3 but it is still a very playable game online and off. It is also a great rent if you are looking to play something over the weekend.

Last but not least if you want more of the store look for the DC comic that came out a couple weeks before the game release..

The Legend Of Zeld The Hyrule Historia. A Review.

The Hardcover of the historia. In the normal Zelda colors.

Back in 2011 The Legend of Zelda celebrated its 25th Anniversary. After the release of of Skyward Sword this marked a big year of surprises for one of Nintendo's biggest franchises. Fast forward 2 years and The latest in Nintendo's bag of trick for the franchise is out. An it is called The Hyrule Historia.

The book is a collective time line of all the Zelda games from the first to the latest and everything in between. It also at the end give a brief manga on Skyward sword. The book focuses on the biggest games in the franchise. First is the cult classic Ocarina of Time the book talks about the direction that the developers wanted to go with the game it also shows things like the execution of Ganondorf. To concept art for Link's Legendary steed Epona.

Shortly after the book talks about Majoras mask the next in line of epic Zelda games. The books talks about concepts for everything that was featured in the game from the child that steals the mask to the
Fierce Deity Link that is used during boss battles an such.

My favorite part of the book is the chapter on Twilight Princess. Featured in the pictures below are alot of the concept art for most of the main characters in the game. The Art of Bioshock Infinite a book review.

The Slip Cover for the Artbook.
Bioshock infinite has been out now for about 2 weeks it came out in late March an even before coming out it has won a lot of awards in the gaming industry. Much like others games coming out more recently it is following a trend of releasing an artbook along with the game. I usually get things like this for certain franchises but I have to say getting something like this is amazing. The Bioshock universe is notorious for having posters and propaganda all over the city and the game. I am happy to say that there is no shortage of this in the artbook.

Under the slip cover. Is a embossed version in gold of the Image. It is pretty amazing.
Art for the Devil's Kiss Vigor.

Propaganda Art for the Vigor possession.

The first couple of chapters are all the big characters and what they could have looked like. Along with those characters are some of the heavy hitting enemies that you meet in the first couple of hours of the game.
Concept Art for the Prophet statue.

This image is actually in the game.

The rest of the book is amazing scenery that you see everywhere in the game along with these pictures is the imagery. It is spectacular it is hard to believe how much thought goes into something like this but I understand cause not only is the game-play unbelievable but the story too is amazing.
SongBird Concept art.

Elizabeth Concept art.

Another Elizabeth.

Booker Concept art.

The last couple of chapters of the book are what makes the game special the Bioshock propaganda. An they are spectacular. All in all the book is amazing it is the  best $35 dollars you can spend on a coffee table book but if you get the book on Amazon.com it is like $25 dollars as long as you pay for the book get it anyway you want.

PSA: For a link to the Amazon page click here.

Coffee Table of the Dead. A first time furniture Review.

Now here at EGFG I dont usually post reviews for something like this but I just got this in the mail and I thought that I should since A: It is pure awseome. and B:The Walking Dead season finale just aired a week ago.

Back in October I was at NYCC. An I stumbled upon a company calle Hero Complex Collectibles. They are a website based company that sells collectibles and other good. While at their NYCC booth something awesome caught my eye and it was this table. This custom table with a collage of The Walking Dead comics.

Let me start by saying that this is a custom job all the way you can get it in any form that you want I choose to buy a small bedside table for my bedroom. An I have to say it came out better then I thought it would not that I expected it to come out bad but I didn't think that the pictures would engulf the whole table but they did. The table build is really sturdy you wont have to worry about it crumbling under the weight of whatever you put on it.

Lets get to the table top from what Mr. Mike Ruddy told me. The process for making this is pretty cool as well he starts out by pooling old TPB (Trade Paperback) of The Walking Dead so that the table has a collage that goes together. Shortly after when everything is done setting A clear archrilic is put on it so that it is water proof and the images will not come off.

All in all I am delighted with my purchase. An this is not their only flavor of table it also comes in DC and Marvel flavors. I am also looking into buying a Marvel table. If you are interested in picking up one of your own click on one of the pictures and it will link you to the site.

Bioshock Infinite the review.

Back in the early years of the Xbox 360. Irrational Games created a game, a game that would change the spectrum of how we play the first person shooters. That game was called Bioshock in this came you visited a city called Rapture it was an underwater garden of Eden that house some of the most intelligent people in the game universe. It all went to shit and turned into a fight for survival. Fast forward 5 years and Irrational Games has done it again with Bioshock Infinite.

In this game you play as Booker Dewitt an ex solider with a gambling problem. You are tasked by some unknown people to he to a city called Columbia. There you are told to find a woman named Elizabeth and take her to NYC to clear a debt. After arriving much like in Bioshock everything goes to shit. You are seen a false prophet. An then hunted down by everyone in the city.

The games controls are amazing everything is fluid and easy to learn and much like other first person games or for anyone that loves playing COD or Halo you can change the controller so that the buttons are mapped to the same style. The graphics to this game are amazing everything is crisp and clear the city is vast and there are never any hiccups with the game play. The story is magnificent an this game is a perfect example how a game that is supposed to be triple A game doesn't need a multiplayer aspect to be freaking awesome.

All in all Bioshock Infinite is an amazing game. Bioshock was an amazing way for Irrational games to start a generations an following in the same way Bioshock Infinite is a great way for them to close out a generation.

Stay tuned because April is a big month for us here at EGFG we are hosting multiple give aways and in my next review I am going to be talking about an awesome table that I have bought.
